01. Meet Phoebe Schuh

Known for her artistic vision, Phoebe Schuh is inspired by the rich history and vibrant energy of the Philadelphia region, where she was born and raised. Since founding PS & Daughters in 2011, she has become one of the city’s most renowned designers, celebrated for creating one-of-a-kind spaces that reflect her deep appreciation for architectural history and craftsmanship.

Phoebe was immersed in the world of art and architecture from an early age—her father was a real estate enthusiast and her mother an art historian and painter. Their annual family trips to Siena, Italy, where they spent summers painting, fostered her love of art, history, and creative expression.

In college, Phoebe double-majored in Anthropology and Fine Art, cultivating her interest in how people live and express themselves. Summers spent as an archaeological illustrator in Belize sharpened her skills in precision and spatial awareness. After college, she moved to Tucson to direct an art gallery and earn her MFA in Painting, where she realized her true passion lay in designing spaces rather than curating art.

She moved to Los Angeles to pursue interior design—studying at FIDM and working for world-class designers. At Kathryn M. Ireland’s firm, Phoebe managed multi-million dollar projects and worked closely with Kathryn on developing her proprietary fabric lines. She further honed her skills at Finnish architecture firm Sanna Pollanen, where she specialized in luxury multifamily and single-family residential interior architecture, designing amenity spaces and developing material finish packages.

Returning to her roots in Philadelphia, Phoebe founded PS & Daughters, a luxury interior design firm with a bespoke, client-centered approach. Together with her husband, Matthew, who oversees business and financial management, they bring a unique balance of creative vision and operational expertise to every project. Phoebe’s strength lies in her ability to align her clients’ personalities with their living spaces, and she believes great design comes from listening and collaboration. Phoebe lives in Wayne, PA with Matthew and their two children, Paloma and Oscar, and two dogs Julius and Turkey.

Detailed construction drawing sets further facilitate effective communication, smooth collaboration, and exceptional results.
